CVS trip(s)

In order to make some ECB's this week, I had to make more than one visit. The people that work at my CVS are so nice and several of them go out of their way to help. I was looking for the Crest Pro-Health toothpaste, advertised as FREE after ECB's. Yesterday they were out and today still had none on the shelf... but the sweet man that works there found some for me! Yesterday I ended up with 4 packs of Ice Breakers gum and some marked down Halloween candy. Today I got the goods....
This was accomplished with a total of 5 transactions. The add says limit 1 on the toothpaste so I was confused when the receipt kept printing "limit not reached". I just rolled the ECB's into another transaction until it said I reached the limit, which ended up being 4 of the toothpastes for "free"
Trans #1)
2 Brach's Autumn mix candy .32 each=.64
2 Symphony bars 1.00 each =2.00 (1.00 ECB earned)
4 packs Ice Breakers gum 1.00 each=4.00 (counts as 4 towards buy$10 get $5ECB)
1 Crest Pro-Health whitening toothpaste 4.2 oz 3.49 (Earn 3.49ECB)
Used 2: $1.00 off 2 Ice Breakers gum or candy q's, 1: $1.00 on any Crest q, and $4ECB = save $7.00
3.13 remaining balance paid with CVS giftcard :: OOP=0.00 ECB earned: 4.49
Trans #2)
1 Crest Pro-Health Whitening Toothpaste 3.49(earn 3.49 ECB)
used 1: .75 Crest Pro-Health q and $2 ECB =2.75 savings
.85 balance paid with CVS giftcard :: OOP=0.00 ECB earned: 3.49
Trans #3)
2 packs Ice Breakers gum 1.00 each = 2.00 (This fulfilled the Buy$10 get $5 ECB's deal)
1.90 paid with CVS giftcard .10 paid with cash :: OOP $0.10 ECB earned: 5.00
Trans #4)
1 Crest Pro-Health Whitening toothpaste 3.49 (Earn 3.49ECB)
Paid with 3.49 ECB from transaction #2 so ZERO OOP! ECB earned: 3.49

Trans #5)
1 Crest Pro-Health Whitening toothpaste 3.49 (Earn 3.49ECB)
Paid with 3.49 ECB from transaction #4 so ZERO OOP! ECB earned: 3.49

Not bad for 10 cents!! It would have been a good deal for $5.98 even without the giftcard!
Plus I now have 12.98 ECBs for next week!! Yippee!!

This might sound silly, but what are ECB's?

They are Extra Care Bucks that CVS prints on your receipt that you can use like cash on your next order.
